Important announcement: Version 1.1.0 of the Bitcoin and Altcoin Wallets WordPress plugin introduces compatibility with the prasos/bittiraha-walletd lightweight wallet. A lightweight wallet is a wallet that does not require a blockchain local copy.

This is in response to users requesting a way to use the plugin without running a full Bitcoin node. A full Bitcoin node stores a local copy of the entire blockchain. This takes up several Gigabytes, which makes it an unattractive solution for some web servers. Fortunately it is now possible to run the plugin with this lightweight wallet which does not store the blockchain locally. Please see the FAQ for details.

In addition, there will soon be a coin adapter extension allowing you to use an online wallet hosted on blockchain.info. When released, this will be another way to run the plugin without the need to run a full node. Stay tuned.

If you prefer to run your own node, you can still do so.

This release breaks compatibility with existing altcoin adapters. If you have purchased access to the altcoin adapters, please update them to their latest versions using your activation code and the WordPress update mechanism:
